State Rep. Lyndon Carlson to Chair House Ways and Means Committee

Tuesday, November 27, 2018

ST. PAUL, MN – Minnesota House Speaker-designate Melissa Hortman has announced that State Rep. Lyndon Carlson (DFL – Crystal) will chair the House Ways and Means Committee for the 2019-2020 biennium. The Ways and Means Committee is responsible for setting spending targets designating the state public investment in all areas of state government, from education to roads and bridges. Rep. Carlson released the following statement:

“It is a great honor to work with Speaker-designate Hortman and the other members of our new majority to continue the positive work that we have done with Governor Dayton to set sound budget priorities for Minnesota. We know that Minnesotans expect their government to work, and I look forward to building on the investments we’ve made to ensure that Minnesota families have every opportunity to succeed with quality education, affordable healthcare, strong infrastructure and an economy that benefits everyone. As we learn more about the future of our state budget during the upcoming revenue forecast, I hope to work together on a bipartisan basis with our colleagues in the Senate to find common ground on an ambitious agenda to improve the lives of all Minnesotans.”

Rep. Carlson encourages constituents to contact him with any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas on any legislative topic. Rep. Carlson can be reached by phone at 651-296-4255 or by email at rep.lyndon.carlson@house.mn.
