CARLSON BEGINS NEW HOUSE TERM WITH NEW POSITION

ST. PAUL - State Representative Lyndon Carlson was sworn in to continue representing District 45B in the Minnesota House on January 3rd. "I'm thankful to the residents of Crystal, Robbinsdale, and Golden Valley for the opportunity to continue being their voice in the Minnesota House," Carlson said. "They, along with a clear majority of Minnesotans told lawmakers they want to focus on core values like quality education, affordable and accessible health care, and fair and stable property taxes." With the new Legislature convened, Carlson assumes his role as Chair of the House Finance Committee, the panel every state budget bill must go through to make it to the House floor. As a result of his position as Chair, Carlson is an Ex-Officio member of every division of the Finance Committee. He will also have seats on the Capital Investment, Rules and Legislative Administration, Taxes, and Ways and Means Committees.. "Having positions on key House Committees gives our communities a seat at the table for discussions on nearly every important issue," Carlson added. While his new committee positions will keep him busy, Rep. Carlson's number one priority will continue to be his constituents. "I continue to invite constituents to call, e-mail, or visit me at the Capitol if they have any questions about legislation." -30-
