ST. PAUL - Minnesota House Speaker-designate Margaret Anderson Kelliher recently appointed State Representative Lyndon Carlson to chair the House Finance Committee when the Legislature reconvenes. The Finance Committee is the panel charged with hearing all bills that affect the state budget before they are debated on the House floor. Carlson, who was elected to another term representing Crystal, Golden Valley, and Robbinsdale in the Minnesota House, said he wants a budget that's fair to all Minnesotans. "People in our communities and all over Minnesota have had to deal with increases in school and county property taxes and health care premiums," Carlson said. "With the state budget running a surplus, we should be able to craft a budget that addresses those needs." Carlson stressed that despite his new leadership position; he will continue to put constituents first. "My number one priority is to represent the people of Crystal, Golden Valley, and Robbinsdale," he added. "My door is always open." Carlson can be reached at his office by phone at 651-296-4255 or by e-mail at -30-
