ST. PAUL - State Representative Lyndon Carlson (Crystal/Robbinsdale/Golden Valley) was awarded a 100% rating for the 2005-2006 Legislative sessions by Clean Water Action Alliance. Clean Water Action describes itself as a citizens' organization working for clean, safe and affordable water, prevention of health-threatening pollution, creation of environmentally safe jobs and businesses, and empowerment of people to make democracy work. They have over 55,000 members statewide.
The organization listed 11 key votes over the past two years in determining their rating, including landmark legislation to reduce mercury emissions from coal burning power plants.
"Over the last two years, we took significant steps in cleaning up our lakes, rivers, and streams," Carlson said. "It will be vital to have citizen groups like Clean Water Action to help us build on this progress."
