Dear Neighbors,

As 2021 draws to a close, it’s an opportunity for us to reflect on the past 12 months and look ahead with hope.

We have experienced unquestionable challenges over the past couple of years. I am optimistic though, that by working together, we can all move forward into a healthy, and prosperous 2022.

Many new laws will also take effect on January 1, 2022. Check out the list, some of which include expanding access to mental health services in Minnesota, delivering funding to support law enforcement agencies, and more, here.

Updated Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)

On Monday, Dec. 27, CDC announced they are updating recommendations for isolation and quarantine to shorten the recommended time for how long people should stay home and away from others. For details, refer to CDC’s media statement: CDC Updates and Shortens Recommended Isolation and Quarantine Period for General Population.

Once additional guidance is available from CDC, the Minnesota Department of Health will update its guidance and materials to align with these new recommendations.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, officials have been following the science and updating public health recommendations to best reflect the current state of the pandemic. Taking steps to prevent spread of COVID-19 remains important so we can reduce severe illnesses and deaths and protect our health care system. The Minnesota Department of Health continues to recommend that people get vaccinated, get a booster when eligible, get tested when recommended, wear masks in indoor public places, wash hands frequently, and stay home when sick.

My best wishes for a happy, peaceful, and healthy New Year. Please contact me anytime at rep.connie.bernardy@house.mn or at 651-296-5510 if I can provide assistance.

Sincerely,

Connie Bernardy
State Representative
