COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Monday, February 15, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

I thought you might be interested in hearing the latest information I have received about the COVID-19 vaccine distribution in Minnesota. As of today, 675,329 Minnesotans have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with 238,104 having completed the series.

MDH indicated that Minnesota received almost 84,000 doses of the vaccine from the federal government last week. Those were divided up between our health care systems (39,800 doses), the Community Vaccination Program (7,000 doses), education and child care workers (10,000 doses), pharmacy partners (4,200 doses), local public health (nearly 15,000 doses - which will finish Phase 1A), tribal nations (3,000 doses), and the Department of Human Services for group homes (5,000 doses).

The state’s allocation from the federal government has increased 28%, for a total of 88,000 per week. MDH has indicated that the dose allocation for this week will be delivered in the following ways:

  • 3% to tribal governments
  • 12% to state sites (educators and 65+)
  • 17% to long-term care facilities and group homes
  • 21% to local public health
  • 46% to health care providers

MDH has created a Covid-19 Vaccine Finder which shows all of the locations receiving allocations of vaccines for eligible populations. Vaccine locations can be found here. Due to the limited amount of vaccine, appointments may not be available.

I’m hopeful we can get more doses and increase distribution to help defeat this pandemic. Please keep an eye on the MDH website ( for the most up-to-date information.

Please contact me anytime at or 651-296-5510 with input, ideas, or questions. I am always grateful for the opportunity to help when I can.

Stay warm today.
