There’s a lot to do at the Capitol This Year

Friday, February 23, 2018

To the Editor:

The Legislative Session starts Tuesday, Feb. 20. There’s a lot to be done this year. Minnesota’s infrastructure including water systems, public buildings, bridges and dams are in need of repair, so it’s important we pass a robust public infrastructure bill. Feel free to contact my office to let me know what you’d like to see done this session.

In my role as DFL-lead on the Transportation and Regional Governance Policy Committee, I’ll continue working on improving our transportation for people of all ages and abilities no matter how they choose to travel. Also, being a member of the Higher Education and Career Readiness Policy and Finance Committee, I’ll strive to ensure post-secondary education is within reach of all students – be it at a four year, two year, or trades program. I’ll also strive to see that the burden of student debt is reduced.

It’s an honor to represent you at the Capitol and I’d like to thank the residents of Fridley, New Brighton and Spring Lake Park for the opportunity to serve our community. As your voice on state issues, I’ll continue to work to bring people together and to ensure the people of our community have the opportunity to succeed. That means everyone has access to a quality education, a job that rewards hard work with fair pay, and a secure retirement.

If there is any way I can be of assistance to you or if you have input on any legislative matter, please give me a call at 651-296-5510 or email me at rep.connie.bernardy@house.mn. I love to hear from you and be of help to you on state matters.
