“I grew up in our community. It is important to me to bring residents together to have conversations about the things we care about,” Bernardy said. “It helps me to advocate more effectively for our community at the Capitol.”

The 2016 Legislative Session begins on March 8. Due to construction on the Capitol Complex, the session is expected to be shorter than usual, clocking in at approximately just 10 weeks. Major items to be considered include transportation, a bonding bill and the state’s budget surplus.
