ST. PAUL, MN – State Representative Carlos Mariani released the following statement on the passing of Manuel Guerrero, a founding member of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association and its first President.
“My heart goes out to Manuel’s family, friends, and loved ones. Minnesota has lost a tireless leader who dedicated his life to building a more just, fair, and compassionate society.
Manuel went above and beyond to provide legal representation to powerless, indigent immigrants who wanted nothing more than to work hard and build a dignified life for themselves and their families. He would personally drive hundreds of miles to communities in greater Minnesota to make sure Latino immigrants had quality legal representation from someone who shared their language and culture.
Manuel was a true warrior who will be dearly missed. I was beyond fortunate to know him.”
