HIGH SCHOOL PAGE PROGRAM SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR 2014 SESSION

Rep. Loon announces Minnesota House program will again host students at State Capitol March 3 – May 16

ST. PAUL – Rep. Jenifer Loon, R-Eden Prairie, announced the Minnesota House of Representatives is seeking student applicants for the 2014 High School Page Program through November 29.

Minnesota high school students in their Junior year are invited to apply for a one week placement at the State Capitol in St. Paul during the legislative session, March 3 – May 16, 2014. High School Page Program participants are exposed to a wide variety of experiences, designed to provide them with a deep understanding of our state government.

“I am excited to invite students from Eden Prairie to apply for this highly competitive learning opportunity,” said Loon, a former High School Page Program participant and current House Deputy Minority Leader. “The High School Page Program has been providing an in-depth look into government at the state level for more than three decades and is now a top-three program in the nation for this experience.”

Interested students must submit a completed application and short essay by November 29, 2013 to be considered. Accepted participants will be notified by the end of the year. If the Legislature adjourns prior to May 18th, 2014, the remainder of the High School Page Program will be canceled and affected students will be notified accordingly.

Students can apply online through this link: http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/edprog/howto.htm.
