Jenifer Loon Sworn in with 88th Legislature

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

St. Paul – State Representative Jenifer Loon (R-Eden Prairie) was sworn in Tuesday when the 88th Legislature convened in St. Paul. Representative Loon was first elected in 2008. This session, she was appointed by House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) to serve in the leadership role of Deputy Minority Leader.

“I’m thrilled to be back at the Capitol this session representing my constituents. We made significant progress over the last two years by prioritizing spending and supporting Minnesota job creators. The results are encouraging: a $2.5 billion budget surplus, a 1.3 percent decrease in unemployment and an 18 percent increase in new business filings. Minnesota is on the path to recovery,” said Representative Loon. “My commitment over the next term is to balance the budget responsibly, support reforms to make government work smarter and prioritize legislation that will get more Minnesotans back to work.”

Representative Loon will also serve as a member of the Taxes Committee, Commerce and Consumer Protection Finance and Policy Committee, Rules and Legislative Administration Committee and Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Loon encourages constituents to contact her with questions or opinions on any state or legislative issue. She can be reached via email at rep.jenifer.loon@house.mn and by phone at 651-296-7449.
