Wednesday, January 23, 2013

PUGH BEGINS FIRST TERM

One week ago today, I was officially sworn in as the state representative for House District 33B in St. Paul in the chamber of the Minnesota House of Representatives. I am humbled by the voters in my district who put their confidence in me to be their representative in St. Paul. I appreciate the outpouring of generosity, support, and prayers as I take on this challenge. I look forward to serving the hard working people and families in my community.

As the legislative session moves forward, my priorities include creating a pro-growth business environment that makes Minnesota more competitive, ensuring government lives within its means by lowering taxes and reducing spending, maintaining the excellence of schools in the district, and protecting the integrity of the state’s election system. I’m also eager to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to identify new ideas on how to enhance our great state.

My committee assignments include Civil Law, Government Operations, and Judiciary.

District 33B consists of Chanhassen, Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, Orono, Shorewood, Spring Park, and Tonka Bay.
