WILLS SWORN IN AS STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

SAINT PAUL, MN – Freshman Representative Anna Wills (R-Apple Valley) was officially sworn in, along with the other 133 members of the Minnesota House of Representatives, on Tuesday at the swearing-in ceremony at the State Capitol.

“I am so honored to have been elected by the people of District 57B,” Wills said. “I look forward to serving the constituents of 57B, and making their voices heard at the Capitol.” Wills was selected to serve on the Education Policy and Education Finance Committees, as well as the Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs.

“I am excited to serve on the Education committees and hope to work with my fellow representatives on finding ways to help close Minnesota’s achievement gap, and continue to improve Minnesota’s schools for our children,” Wills said.  “As I said as I campaigned, I will also work to pay back the remainder of the school shift money.”

“It is also an honor to serve on the State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs Committee to advocate for the many veterans and their families in District 57B. Rosemount is home to the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division, and both Apple Valley and Rosemount are Beyond the Yellow Ribbon cities. I hope the committee will revisit the Veterans Jobs Credit proposal from last session, to make it easier for Minnesota’s servicemen and women to find work when they return home.” Wills says she will make every effort possible to make sure the Veterans Credit bill is heard in committee.

Wills’ office will be in the State Office Building, Room 225, across the street from the State Capitol. She can be reached by phone at 651-296-4306, or by email at Rep.Anna.Wills@state.mn. “While my top priorities this session are balancing the budget in a fiscally responsible manner, and working to foster a healthy environment for job growth in our state, another top priority will be constituent service. I hope my constituents will contact me any time they have feedback, questions, or concerns about the legislation and issues at the Capitol so that I can help make their voices heard in Saint Paul,” Wills concluded.
