Legislative Update from Rep. Jenifer Loon

Thursday, July 19, 2018

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July and are enjoying your summer! It has been a pleasure to see so many of you out and about our community in recent months.

I also wanted to let you know that due to a 60-day post-session campaign finance rule, this will be my last legislative update until after the election in November. Please know, however, that I am still working for our community and am available should you or your family need assistance on a matter of state government. Please don’t hesitate to call or email my office at any time. I am here to serve you!

Finally, I wanted to share a couple events coming up in Eden Prairie for a good cause.

The first is the Shreya R. Dixit Memorial Foundation 11th Raksha Vigil and 5K Run/Walk to help end distracted driving. This is an incredibly important issue, and I was proud to co-author legislation this session to ban hand-held cellphone use while driving. The event is on August 11, and you can register online by the deadline date, July 27. To learn more, check out www.shreyadixit.org.

The second is the annual Eden Prairie Lions Corn Feed from 10:30 am to 6 pm at Round Lake Park on Saturday, August 4. Meal proceeds benefit a number of important foundations including Minnesota Eye Bank, the Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation, Eden Prairie’s Miracle Field, PROP Food Shelf and more. You can find out more here.

Have a wonderful summer and fall! I look forward to seeing you around Eden Prairie, and encourage you to contact me if you have questions, comments or ideas about what you would like to see happen at our Capitol. It is an honor and privilege to work for our community!

Sincerely,

Jenifer Loon
