ST. PAUL, MN—On Tuesday, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is holding its final hearing ahead of what is expected to be a final decision on the proposed Line 3 replacement pipeline. House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, issued the following statement regarding the final public hearing. Speaker Daudt will greet supporters over the lunch hour this afternoon at the Doubletree Hotel at approximately 12:30 PM.
"Minnesotans have waited long enough for the jobs, property tax revenue, and enhanced environmental protections that come with this pipeline replacement project," Speaker Daudt said. "House Republicans are proud to have supported this project, which would bring thousands of jobs and more than $2 billion in private investment into northern Minnesota—Democrats have consistently voted against the pipeline, and stood with fringe activists who want to stop it and have vowed violent protests if the project is allowed to proceed."
The PUC decision is expected on June 26th or 27th.
