Monday, June 11, 2018

Saint Paul, MINN—Rep. Bob Dettmer, R-Forest Lake, who chairs the House Veterans Affairs Division, is encouraging Minnesotans to come to the Capitol and visit The Wall that Heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. The wall will be at the Capitol June 21-June 24, and there will be a number of events including an opening ceremony, a daily reading of the names of Minnesota’s fallen, museum exhibits, film screenings, a mobile education center, and more.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for Minnesotans to learn more about the Vietnam War, and pay tribute to the brave Americans who served, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation,” said Rep. Dettmer. “I look forward to speaking at the Opening Ceremony on June 21, kicking off a several day event to honor and remember Minnesotans who served in the Vietnam War.”

The wall will be open 24 hours a day. You can learn more about the Wall that Heals Event at www.mnvietnam.org/thewallthatheals/.
