Legislative Update from Rep. Anna Wills

Friday, September 1, 2017

Dear Friends,

The State Fair began this week and the weather is shifting, which means our kids will be getting back school very soon. To our students, staff, and teachers, I hope your school year gets off to a great start!

A note for the parents in our community, there are two tax programs that could help families in our area save money for the cost of your child’s K-12 education. The K-12 Education Subtraction and Credit could help lower your taxes; save your receipts when back-to-school shopping to include in your tax returns!

You can learn more at the Minnesota Department of Revenue’s website here.

Rosemount High School Centennial

This year, Rosemount High School is celebrating its centennial anniversary! To mark the occasion, the weekend of September 22-23 will be full of events to observe the history and legacy of Rosemount High School!

Fit Academy Ribbon Cutting

On August 22nd, Gideon and I had the chance to attend the Apple Valley Chamber’s ribbon cutting for Fit Academy! Congratulations to Fit Academy and best wishes for their success.

Rosemount/Apple Valley Citizens Police Academy

In September and October the Rosemount and Apply Valley Police Departments will be offering additional opportunities for individuals to participate in the Citizens Police Academy. Those who live and work in Rosemount can apply and learn what our area officers do to maintain public safety. The Academy will be from Sept. 5th- Oct. 24th. Interim Appointments

If you would like to meet with me to ask any questions or discuss a particular issue, my meetings will be held in-district during these months before next year’s session. Simply use the same contact information for my office below, and we will find a time and place to meet in our community, instead of traveling all the way to Saint Paul!

Keep in Touch

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me with your comments, questions, and concerns. Email me anytime at rep.anna.wills@house.mn or call 651-296-4306. You can also follow my updates on Facebook at www.facebook.com/repannawills and Twitter at https://twitter.com/annacwills.
