Legislative Update from Rep. Anna Wills

Friday, August 18, 2017

Dear Friends,

These last couple of weeks have been full of important events for our community and our state! It was wonderful to talk to so many people at these gatherings, and I look forward to seeing more of you in our community as we finish out this summer.

Rosemount’s Public Safety in the Park

Gideon and I had a great time at the Safety in the Park event in Rosemount on Tuesday! Thank you to our police and fire folks for all you do to keep our community safe!

Capitol Grand Reopening

I hope you had the chance to participate in our State Capitol’s Grand Reopening celebrations last weekend. After a four year long restoration, Minnesotans were welcomed back into the People’s House, and introduced to its renewed beauty and newly-restored public spaces.

Here is a video of what was accomplished during the restoration from earlier this year. If you haven’t had a chance to visit our beautiful, refreshed Capitol (one of the most magnificent in the Nation), the Minnesota Historical Society offers free guided tours seven days a week. For a schedule of Capitol Tours click here: http://www.mnhs.org/capitol/visit/hours .

Ben Kopp Memorial Bridge

As I mentioned in my last update, on August 2nd our community honored the legacy of Corporal Ben Kopp by dedicating a bridge in his memory. I was humbled to be a part of the dedication of the Corporal Benjamin S. Kopp Memorial Bridge, and am so pleased that our community will have this reminder of his courage and sacrifice for generations to come.

Here is a wonderful video that the City of Rosemount did on this event: https://www.facebook.com/cityofrosemount/videos/1404703496232298/ .

Interim Appointments

If you would like to meet with me to as any questions or discuss a particular issue, my meetings will be held in-district during these months before next year’s session. Simply use the same contact information for my office below, and we will find a time and place to meet in our community, instead of traveling all the way to Saint Paul!
