Legislative Update - June 1, 2018

Friday, June 8, 2018

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you are doing well and getting ready for a Minnesota summer. It has been wonderful to see so many friendly faces around the community. Here are some highlights from this week:

Community Events

It was so good to get back to the community and spend time with our neighbors. Mayor Mary delivered a great State of the City address. I am very proud of our progress and I am excited for where we are headed. The Apple Valley Chamber had another great event and I even won a table centerpiece in the raffle. The Apple Valley American Legion hosted a beautiful service honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country, and I was moved by the words of our guest speaker, Commander Carla, and Paul, the Head of the Apple Valley Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program.

School Visits

With just a few days left in the school year, I am trying to visit as many classrooms as possible to hear from teachers and students. I have visited over a dozen classrooms in the last two weeks. If you know a teacher or class that would like me to visit please let me know!

No Coffee and Conversations This Week

During the summer and fall, Coffee and Conversations will be on the second Saturday of every month. For June, the next Coffee and Conversations will be Saturday, June 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dunn Brothers in Apple Valley (15265 Galaxie Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124). I hope you can make it.  I am still finalizing details for the town hall, but it will likely be towards the end of June.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is an honor to represent our community in the legislature.

Warmly.

Erin
