Legislative Update (March 11, 2016)

Friday, March 11, 2016

Hello, Neighbors!

We reconvened for the 2016 session on Tuesday, and we’re picking up right where we left off last year. It’s hectic, but I look forward to what we can accomplish before we finish the biennium.

Civil Law Committee

The Civil Law and Data Practices Committee – the committee I chair in St. Paul – met for the first time this session on Thursday. We heard three bills, including one of my own related to data privacy. If you’re ever in St. Paul, please check our committee webpage (here) and stop by one of our hearings.

Capitol Construction

Our Capitol is in the process of being renovated while we participate in our floor sessions. Because of the construction, it’s best to set up a meeting with me across the street in the State Office Building. Please call ahead to schedule a time and date; I look forward to seeing you!

Around Town

Tomorrow is the North Suburban Home Improvement Show in Andover. The event is from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and is located at 15200 Hanson Blvd NW, Andover, MN 55304. If you want to learn more about the show, please click here.

It feels like spring is around the corner, which means Andover’s Annual City Wide Garage Sale is coming up. The sale is May 12 until May 14 and registration is open now until May 6. You can find more information here.
