Press/News Releases

"Gov. Dayton has put forward a bold vision for how we take advantage of a unique opportunity to invest in the future of our state. Democrats in the House share his commitment to our children and their schools, and we look forward to working with him to build on the progress we made together over the last two years.

"We also look forward to working with Republicans in the House this session to address the challenges so many Minnesotans face despite a growing economy. Sufficiently funding care for our seniors, continuing work we started to lower property taxes, building a comprehensive long term transportation plan, investing in early learners, making college more affordable and growing economic security for Minnesota families are our top priorities.

"If we are able to make significant progress in these important areas rather than focus our time and limited resources on tax breaks for big corporations and the richest Minnesotans, this legislative session will be a success. Gov. Dayton's budget proposal moves us in that direction and I look forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting to work for Minnesota families."
