Legislative Update from Washington DC

Dear neighbors and friends,

This week, I’m in Washington DC for the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL). Yesterday, I had the chance to attend a meeting focused on transportation.  It was titled “Point A to Point B: Serving Constituents Through Transportation Access and Performance.”  It was a great chance to learn from other legislative leaders and find out how they improve transportation access for their areas.  More information about the event can be found here (www.ncsl.org) or by looking at the agenda that I’ll attach to this email.

Today, I toured Washington National Airport and they are making some significant changes to improve their facility for travelers. It’s the kind of project that is fairly common for large airports like the one in Minneapolis-St Paul, so it was nice to learn more about it while in DC.

These events are important because they help us interact with members across party and state lines.  It means more collaboration and working towards solutions for our communities.

The cost of attending this particular event was covered by a stipend award from the NCSL.
