Legislative Update August 1, 2015

Dear Friends,

Night to Unite and National Night Out

Tuesday, August 4 marks the Night to Unite in Burnsville and National Night Out in Eagan. These events promote public safety awareness and generates support for anti-crime programs within communities nationwide. There will be hundreds of events in Burnsville and Eagan starting around 6:00 PM.

Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, these events are celebrated with fun community-building activities including block parties, cook-outs, police and fire department visits, parades, contests, and youth programs. This important event strengthens neighborhood networks and fosters police and community relationships.

For more information you can visit the Burnsville Night to Unite website and Eagan’s National Night Out website.

Burnsville Awarded Hometown Media Award

The national Hometown Media Awards are held annually, and honor community media and local programs that air on local cable access channels. Awards are presented to one winner in each program category. The Burnsville Fire Department won the national award for a Government Profile that showcases government employees at work. Here is the winning video: We Are the Burnsville Fire Department: "Our Family Protecting Yours."

So, congratulations to the Burnsville Fire Department and I hope to see you Tuesday evening!

As always, feel free to contact me at 651-296-3533.
