St. Paul, MN—The state’s major small business organization, the National Federation of Independent Business, or NFIB, has named Representative Susan Akland, R-St. Peter, a Guardian of Small Business.
“I am honored to be named a Guardian of Small Business by NFIB, but the real heroes are our small business leaders who have overcome insurmountable challenges in recent years. I am thankful for them, because without them, Minnesota may not have recovered from the pandemic and destruction from riots,” Akland said. “I look forward to continuing to be a voice for our small businesses in the next legislative session.”
Akland earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award with a 100% score on the NFIB Minnesota Voting Record for 2021-22.
“Now more than ever, Main Street needs strong advocates in the Minnesota Legislature, and they have one in Representative Susan Akland,” said John Reynolds, NFIB Minnesota State Director. “Thanks to Susan’s leadership, small businesses were spared from painful tax hikes, more red tape, and burdensome mandates.”
The Guardian of Small Business Award is reserved for legislators who vote consistently with small businesses on the key issues identified by small business owners.
