Capitol Newsletter from Rep. Spencer Igo

Friday, January 15, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

It was a busy first week in St. Paul as House committees held their first meetings of the year. Much of our work in committee this week was focused on state agency overviews and general discussion on committee purview and budgetary jurisdiction. I look forward to working hard on the issues that matter most to the Northland including helping bring our economy roaring back to life.

On that note, restaurants and many other businesses reopened for indoor operations on Monday. These local small businesses have been through a lot and have gone to great lengths to provide a safe environment for customers. Please be sure to support them!

As a reminder, here are the committees I have been assigned to:

  • Climate and Energy Finance and Policy
  • Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy
  • Redistricting

Finally, it’s been great to hear from many of you that have sent me well wishes as I took the oath of office last week. While this session will look different than it has in the past, I still encourage you to continue reaching out to me about the issues that are most important to you. If you have concerns on a matter relating to state government, please don't hesitate to contact my office.

Staying in Touch
