Rep. Alice Mann Celebrates Metro Orange Line Project Groundbreaking
ST. PAUL, MN – Rep. Alice Mann today attended a groundbreaking for the metro orange line project that will connect Minneapolis to Burnsville through Richfield and Bloomington. The project received a $74.1 million grant from the federal government in June to help finish the 17-mile line.
"I'm excited to see this project come to life - it will help strengthen our community's economy and increase convenient transportation options for families," said Rep. Alice Mann, who represents portions of Burnsville and Lakeville. "Thousands of Minnesotans will have an affordable, sustainable way to reach new job opportunities."
Beginning in 2021, the bus line will connect passengers to major employers, including HealthPartners, Wells Fargo, Best Buy and Toro.
“In her first year at the legislature, Rep. Alice Mann has proven to be a strong advocate for transportation by both supporting funding and voting for new cost effective public transportation,” said House Transportation Committee Chair Frank Hornstein.
