Update from Rep. Tabke: New Solutions for Affordable Housing

Friday, February 21, 2020

Tabke

Your Friday Update from the Office of Representative Brad Tabke:

This week Rep. Tabke presented to the Housing Committee his bill that will use innovative and creative new ways to promote new affordable housing and protect naturally occurring affordable housing where it exists. The proposal will help address the statewide housing crisis that has forced too many Minnesotans out of their homes. All Minnesotans should have a safe and affordable place to rest their head at night.

Rep. Tabke's bill will allow community members, faith organizations, businesses and others to pool their money in return for a 90% tax credit. It's a simple, proven strategy that will allow communities to address housing needs.
