Friday, August 23, 2019

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Following a successful first session in the Minnesota House, the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) and Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) have recognized Rep. Kelly Moller (DFL – Shoreview) as a “Legislator of Distinction.” Each organization noted Rep. Moller’s accessibility, partnership, and advocacy in achieving mutual goals at the State Capitol.

“I’ve worked hard to develop good working relationships with the cities and school districts I represent, and it’s an honor to receive these awards from the LMC and MSBA,” Rep. Moller said. “For us to make progress in Saint Paul on issues that matter to our communities, it takes strong collaboration with partners at the local level. I thank them for the recognition and look forward to building upon our shared success in the future.”

In presenting her with their “Legislator of Distinction” award, LMC staff cited Rep. Moller’s efforts to work collaboratively on legislation regarding sexual harassment and for regularly seeking out city concerns. The MSBA noted her advocacy for legislation to improve special education and reduce required paperwork in their announcement of the award.

The LMC has more than 800 member cities across the state, and provides advocacy, education and training, policy development, risk management, and other services. The MSBA, the eighth-oldest school board organization in the United States, advocates for public education and supports, promotes, and strengthens the work of Minnesota’s 333 public school boards.

Rep. Moller encourages constituents to reach out with input and feedback about any issue. She can be reached at the Capitol by phone at 651-296-0141 or email at rep.kelly.moller@house.mn. Additionally, she’s on Facebook at fb.com/repkellymoller.
