Legislative Update - Virtual Town Hall Tonight

Thursday, April 2, 2020

Rep. Wazlawik

Dear neighbors,

I’m holding a virtual town hall via Facebook Live this evening! I’ll be answering questions about the work we’ve been doing to address the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as what the coming days and weeks might look like. To join us, please visit my Facebook page at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Wazlawik Town Hall

If you have questions or comments that you’d like me to address during the town hall, please share them here. I will accept questions from live comments during the event, but the questions submitted ahead of time will be a good jumping off point.

Additional information about the Facebook Live Town Hall is available here.

Grants for Child Care Providers Now Available

Many child care providers are struggling to stay in business due to the high number of families who have withdrawn their children from care. The COVID-19 response package that we passed last week included funding for emergency grants to help child care providers keep their doors open and provide critically-needed care. The application process for those emergency grants is now open. More information is available here on the Child Care Aware website.

New Guide for Small Businesses

In previous emails, I’ve mentioned several state and federal programs that were created to help small businesses affected by COVID-19. Different programs make sense for different businesses, so the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) put out a guide that details all of the assistance available in one spot. This information can help small businesses determine which programs might work for them. Click here to view the guide.

Regardless of whether you’re able to participate in the virtual town hall, please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, feedback, and suggestions.

Sincerely,

Ami Wazlawik
State Representative
