New Laws Taking Effect August 1
Laws that are taking effect next month will:
A comprehensive list of the policies that go into effect in August is available here.
Canoeing with White Bear Lake Students
I had a great time canoeing on Bald Eagle Lake with students from Lakeaires Elementary earlier this week! The students were participating in a Wilderness Inquiry program that helps kids learn and connect with nature through outdoor adventures. Several Wilderness Inquiry programs received funding through the Legacy Amendment this session. I appreciated the opportunity to spend time with the students and see Legacy funds at work in our community.
National Night Out
Dozens of National Night Out events will take place on Tuesday, August 6. This annual event, also known as Night to Unite, is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and neighbors and build community spirit! Local Sheriff’s, Police, and Fire Departments try to visit neighborhood block parties. If you’re hosting an event, remember to register with your county and local government and sign up for a visit.
If you’re hosting a block party, please let me know! I’ll do my best to attend as many events as possible.
I always appreciate hearing from fellow community members. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ami Wazlawik
State Representative
