I recently met with the School Nurse Organization of Minnesota (SNOM). They do incredible and important work in our schools, taking care of a wide range of complex health challenges, often at multiple schools. Their role is key in addressing the health and wellbeing of our students and their families. Our kids need to be healthy to thrive in and out of the classroom, and I’ll continue to advocate for greater support of our school nurses as we look ahead to the 2020 session.
Many other important changes are coming to Minnesota this year. You can learn more about them below:
Minnesota’s Presidential Primary
Minnesotans will be able to vote in a presidential nomination primary this year. Regardless of party affiliation, it’s important to make your voice heard in the process. Primary Day in Minnesota will be on March 3. If you are interested in voting early, you can request an absentee ballot here. More information is available on the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
Real ID-Deadline October 1
Effective October 1, Minnesotans will need a Real ID or passport to board a commercial aircraft or enter certain federal facilities. Consider getting a jump start on Real ID when you renew your driver's license or ID card prior to the fall deadline. An infographic showing common examples of Real ID required documents is available here.?
