Rep. Lippert votes for House Jobs and Local Projects Plan

Saturday, May 16, 2020

St. Paul, MN – Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives considered the House Jobs and Local Projects Plan, which would invest over $2.5 billion in important infrastructure improvements and job-creating local projects across the state. As it did not receive the constitutionally required three-fifths supermajority vote, due to a lack of support from House Republicans, the bill did not pass. State Representative Todd Lippert (DFL - Northfield) voted in favor of the legislation.

“The House Jobs and Local Projects bill would deliver on important infrastructure projects not just in Northfield, but in communities across Minnesota,” said Rep Lippert. “Though it’s disappointing to see a lack of support for this legislation among House Republicans, I remain committed to bringing these jobs and resources to our community. Now is not the time to shy away from investing in the future of Minnesota.”

Projects important to Northfield and the surrounding region that are in the House Jobs and Local Projects Plan include the Northfield Regional Transit Hub, local trail connections, and more.

A full list of the projects proposed in the legislation can be accessed here. Video of the House Floor session will be available on House Public Information Services’ YouTube Channel.
