Legislative Update - December 20, 2019

Friday, December 20, 2019

Rep. Sauke

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you’re able to spend this season with loved ones as we celebrate the holidays and look forward to a new year. The 2020 Legislative Session is quickly approaching, and as many of you know, this will be my last session as your state representative. Thank you for the honor of representing our community in the Minnesota House of Representatives, and I look forward to a final year of advocating for the issues that matter for our community, and for Minnesota.

Happy Holidays

2020 Bonding Bill

My colleagues and I on the House Capital Investment Committee spent the last half of this year traveling all over Minnesota, visiting proposed sites and projects for the 2020 Bonding Bill. Communities from all over the state will be submitting local projects for possible inclusion in this bill that will fund numerous infrastructure needs.

I was honored to welcome my colleagues when we stopped in our community to tour proposed sites. There are many worthy projects in our state, but I look forward to championing the various projects in our region this session, such as the much-needed safety improvements for the Rochester International Airport, modifications to the Silver Lake Dam, and the Willow Creek Trail connection project.

Be Heard on Cannabis

Thank you to everyone that came out for our “Be Heard on Cannabis” event in Rochester. This is an issue that we’ll be looking at in the Minnesota House this session, and your stories and questions were very helpful. If you were unable to attend the event, or would like to receive updates on the issue, you can find more information on our website here.
