RELEASE: After taking oath of office second time, Rep. Sandstede ready to get to work

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Tuesday, state Rep. Julie Sandstede (DFL – Hibbing) was sworn-in for her second term representing District 6A in the Minnesota House of Representatives as the 2019 legislative session got underway.

“I carry a tremendous amount of gratitude for the opportunity to serve at the State Capitol and am excited to get to work right away,” Rep. Sandstede said. “Frankly, I think there is more that unites us than divides us. As we remember our friend Tom Rukavina, we must commit to doing what he did every single day: advocate strongly for working people, including good jobs with fair pay, a world-class public education for every student, and a true opportunity for all Minnesotans to succeed, no matter their background. This session, I think we have a great team in place, ready to accomplish a great deal for people on the Iron Range and throughout the state.”

Rep. Sandstede serves the Iron Range communities of Hibbing, Chisholm, Keewatin, Buhl and several townships. She has been appointed Vice Chair of the Education Finance Division for the coming session, and will work to expand opportunities for all students to achieve and reach their full potential. Additionally, she will serve on the Capital Investment Division and the Greater Minnesota Jobs and Economic Development Finance Division.

Rep. Sandstede encourages constituents to reach out to her about any issue. She can be reached by mail at 411 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155, email at rep.julie.sandstede@house.mn, by phone at 651-296-0172, and encourages constituents to sign up for periodic email updates at her House website, located at www.house.mn/6a.
