SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Minnesota Management and Budget released a new budget forecast showing a projected balance of $7.7 billion for the current two-year budget cycle.
Representative Rob Ecklund (DFL – International Falls) issued the following statement:
“The budget forecast released today is great news. Following a difficult time for our state, the projections mean we will have resources available to invest in workers, families, students, and small businesses to help ensure all Minnesotans are truly able to experience economic recovery. We have a pandemic that remains a threat and there’s still a great deal of uncertainty for us to encounter, so we can look ahead cautiously but quite optimistically. There are some urgent challenges people and communities are facing, and the surplus gives us the chance to help everyone overcome those roadblocks and build a stronger future for our entire state.”
