State Rep. Eric Lucero visiting with Otsego/Elk River Boy Scout Troop 90 to discuss citizenship in the community.
ELK RIVER, MN – State Rep. Eric Lucero, R-Dayton, joined Otsego/Elk River Boy Scout Troop 90 during its meeting this week at the Sherburne County Fairgrounds. Lucero was invited to visit the junior high and high school scouts to help the boys as they work toward meeting their Citizenship in the Community requirements.
“It was a high honor to be invited to speak,” Lucero said. “I discussed the origin and meaning of individual liberty, the purpose of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as establishing a government to protect the liberties given to each and every one of us by our Creator, and our civic obligations as citizens of our great state and country.”
Over two dozen scouts and parents were in attendance at the troop’s regular meeting.
“I was very impressed with the engaging questions from the great group of boys,” Lucero said.
