Dear Neighbors,
We are blessed to live in the land of the free because of the bravery of those who founded and fought for our nation, as well as the veterans and active military who defended and continue to defend our freedoms at home and across the globe.
The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."
These words hold as much meaning today as when they were written more than 200 years ago.
As we pause as a nation to celebrate our independence, please take a moment to remember those words—that all people are created equal and made in the image of God. Please be sure to keep those truths in mind this holiday season.
