Tuesday, January 8, 2019

St. Paul – Minnesota’s 2019 Legislative Session officially began January 8th with Rep. Nick Zerwas (R-Elk River) and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol. Rep. Zerwas was accompanied at his swearing by his wife Bette, son Jackson, and parents Tom & Chris Zerwas.

“I am looking forward to this year’s legislative session—one that is sure to be busy as we work to approve a new, two-year state budget,” Zerwas said. “As always, I am committed to representing the priorities of our area as best as possible. That’s why I urge you to contact me and let me know what you’d like to see accomplished this session.”

Most of Rep. Zerwas’ work during the first months of session will take place in House committees. For the 2019-2020 legislative biennium, Zerwas will serve as the Republican-lead on the Government Operations Committee. He has also been assigned to serve on the Subcommittee on Corrections and the Health and Human Services Finance Division.
