Governor Walz will deliver his State of the State address tonight at 7:00. Folks can watch it on the governor’s YouTube channel, which you can access here. This year’s State of the State was initially scheduled for March 23.
The House Rules Committee conducted a remote hearing on Wednesday. This was an official House Rules Committee hearing where members were able to ask questions, vote and hear public testimony through an email address set up for people to make statements. Although no video was available for the meeting, the House is working to incorporate audio/video conferencing components for future remote committee hearings. Realtime audio of the meeting was available through the House website, and on the House Public Information Services’ YouTube and Facebook pages. This was an important step in developing the Legislature’s capabilities to continue working through the COVID-19 pandemic. More remote House committee hearings will take place beginning this week.
