ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, has gained an appointment to continue serving as the lead Republican on the House’s Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee when the 2021 legislative session begins Jan. 5.

Swedzinski, entering his sixth term in office, has served numerous terms on committees related to energy, evaluating policies of the state and assessing the impact on the future of the environment and the economy. It is his second consecutive stint as the top House Republican on energy.

“The state’s energy policies significantly impact residents of Greater Minnesota and it is important for the people of District 16B to have a voice in those decisions,” Swedzinski said. “I am pleased to be involved in those discussions because to make sure our interests are well-represented and that we are focusing on accessibility and affordability for all Minnesotans. I am grateful for this opportunity to continue making a difference on this subject, ensuring people from District 16A have a voice at the Capitol.”
