News from Rep. Quam (01-11-2019)

Friday, January 11, 2019

Friends,

I’m humbled and honored to be returning to the legislature and continue serving the residents of Dodge and Olmsted Counties. I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to address the needs and concerns of our community and state: funding the shared priorities of all Minnesotans while working to lower the tax burden on Minnesotans. This biennium I will serve on the following committees: the Government Operations, Higher Education Finance & Policy Division, and State Government Finance Division.

New Laws in Effect

In addition to the beginning of a new calendar year, January 1 brought our state some new laws. On January 1, 2019, a handful of laws passed during the 2018 legislative session went into effect. These new laws address various issues, including reinsurance organizations, identity theft, PTSD for public safety personnel, waste collection systems, MA reimbursement rates, and step therapy.

If you’d like to see a full list of the new laws that took effect on January 1, please click on the following link: https://www.house.mn/hinfo/leginfo/0119nlrelease.pdf.
