We have just wrapped up our first full week of session. As we continue to debate whether or not Minnesota should remain in a state of emergency and Governor Walz should maintain his emergency powers, I was pleased to hear that House Democrats plan to hold hearings as to how to safely reopen Minnesota businesses and make business owners equal players in decisions that impact their livelihoods. This is a positive step forward and encouraging that the Legislature will soon return to an equal partner under the state constitution.
COVID-19 BUSINESS RELIEF
The Minnesota Legislature previously approved small businesses relief funds that were sent to the counties for distribution, and those funds are now available. If you are a small business owner, I strongly encourage you to determine your eligibility. MORE COVID-19 VACCINES TO BE DISTRIBUTED
On Thursday, Governor Walz announced the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine will be offered to broader categories of Minnesotans, including Minnesotans age 65 and older. This is good news, as it means the largest numbers of vulnerable residents in our state are expected to more quickly receive their vaccinations.

Speaking of vaccinations, the State of Minnesota has launched a new online dashboard for citizens to track COVID-19 vaccine allocation, distribution, and administration in Minnesota's counties.
