Legislative Update from Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen

Friday, January 11, 2019

Dear Neighbors,

The 2019 legislative session officially began at noon on Tuesday as I joined 133 of my colleagues in taking the oath of office.

It truly is an honor and privilege to serve our community in St. Paul this term. As your state representative, I am committed to working this session to lower your tax burden, improve health care delivery and pricing, and grow our economy so all Minnesotans have the opportunity to prosper.

The road ahead may be difficult as Governor Walz and House Democrats are already looking to raise taxes and give government even more control of our health care. Rest assured, I will fight to prevent Democrats and Governor Walz from implementing their liberal agenda. Stay tuned for more updates on this as session progresses.

Much of my work during the first couple months of session will take place in committee. This year I’ve been assigned to serve as the Republican-lead on the Subcommittee on Long Term Care. In addition to serving as lead on that committee, I have also been assigned to both the Health and Human Services Finance Division and the Education Policy Division.

That’s all for this week’s update. Things will start to pick up more next week and I will make sure to keep you updated on what’s happening here in St. Paul. In the meantime, I urge you to contact me if you have any legislative questions, concerns, or ideas. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-4229 or via email at rep.glenn.gruenhagen@house.mn.

Thanks and have a good weekend,

Glenn
