As summer comes to a close, I wanted to send out a couple of reminders for the parents, teachers, and students in our area.
High School Page Program
The Minnesota House of Representatives has a program for high school juniors that allows students to spend a week working at the Legislature during session, holding mock committee hearings, assisting legislators and staff during House floor sessions, and learning about how the state legislature works firsthand. If you know of a student who might be interested, please visit this website for more information.
Save Your Receipts
If you are stocking up on school supplies for the year, don’t forget to save your receipts! Minnesota has a tax credit and a tax subtraction that can help with the annual cost of qualifying school supplies. Find out more about what qualifies here.
