Legislative Update - October 2, 2019

Rep. Masin

Dear Neighbors,

The Minnesota House of Representatives is on the road this week. My colleagues and I are currently in southeastern Minnesota for a historic mini-session. From October 2 – 4, we’ll hear from Minnesotans, hold public committee meetings, and attend informational presentations and tours in Winona and the surrounding communities.

While the Legislature won’t officially reconvene until February, the mini-session is an opportunity to gather input from Minnesotans and develop a deeper understanding of issues that we hope to tackle next year.

The last mini-session was held in Willmar in 1997. Reviving this tradition is part of our broader efforts to give more Minnesotans a chance to share their experiences and participate in the legislative process. Resources and media from previous mini-sessions are available here.

Apply for the High School Page Program

The House High School Page Program gives Minnesota students an opportunity to see state government in action while spending a week at the Capitol. The program is open to current high school juniors.

I highly encourage high school students to apply! Applications are due by Thursday, November 21. More information is available here.

Please feel free to share any questions or feedback you may have

Sincerely,

Sandra Masin
State Representative
