Legislative Update - October 1, 2019

Dear neighbors, 

While the Minnesota House won’t officially reconvene until February, my colleagues and I will be participating in a mini-session this week. We’ll be in Winona and the surrounding communities from October 2 – 4 to hear from Minnesotans, hold public committee meetings, and develop a deeper understanding of issues that we hope to tackle next year. I’m looking forward to sharing what I learn throughout the week.

I’m also looking forward to returning to the area in a few weeks for the Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener, which is taking place in Austin, Minnesota this year. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate our state’s outdoor heritage. More information about the event is available here.

More Information on Clean Car Standards

In my last e-update, I highlighted Governor Walz’s decision to pursue clean car standards. After Governor Walz made this announcement, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency released a fact sheet with more information about these standards and how they will impact Minnesotans. It’s available here.

Dodge Nature Center Fall Opportunities

Many community members came together last week to show support for Dodge Nature Center. It’s a great resource for our community, and we all hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Congresswoman Angie Craig was one of the supporters at the A Night for Nature event.

Dodge Nature Center provides many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including Fall Break Camps for children in grades K-8. Learn more and register here before registration closes on Friday, October 4.
