Be Heard on Cannabis

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Dear Neighbors,

It’s time for Minnesotans to have an honest conversation about cannabis, both regarding the harm our current laws cause, and how a potential legalization framework might look. Under our current cannabis policies, many people are needlessly diverted toward the criminal justice system, with significant racial disparities in enforcement. Cannabis can also be used to effectively treat cancer, epilepsy, pain, and mental health conditions, including veterans with PTSD, but the laws on the books now pose serious roadblocks.

Tomorrow night, House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler is convening a community conversation in Saint Paul giving you the opportunity to Be Heard on Cannabis. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center. It’s free to attend and everyone is invited.

What: Be Heard on Cannabis Community Conversation

When: Thursday, October 10, 7:00 PM

Where: Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, 270 Kent St, Saint Paul, 55102

Who: Hosted by Majority Leader Ryan Winkler, Rep. Rena Moran, Assistant Senate Minority Leader Jeff Hayden, Sen. Sandy Pappas, Rep. Alice Hausman, Rep. John Lesch, Rep. Dave Pinto, Rep. Jay Xiong, and a Community Leader Panel with Sina Black, Andrea Brown, and Julia Decker
