Neighbors and Friends,

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed many inequities in Minnesota. Housing insecurity and homelessness has been a continuing issue, made worse by the pandemic. The Housing Finance and Policy Committee, of which I serve as chair, is considering many bills to address this vexing and persistent problem across the state.

This week, I presented the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency policy bill, containing several non-fiscal technical changes. Our committee is working to address issues such as attaining homeownership, renter and landlord concerns, affordable housing, etc. We consider the important work of making sure all Minnesotans have a place to call home, without which they cannot thrive and succeed.

You can learn more about our committee, review our agenda and view past meetings on our on House website committee page.

Vaccine Update

Minnesota was recently ranked 3rd in our ability to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine. At our current rate we should be able to vaccinate all Minnesotans 70 years or older by the end of the month and with the new single dose vaccines now available, this pace will continue to speed up. To track vaccines, visit the Department of Health’s dashboard

The Vaccine Connector  is a recently announced tool to link Minnesotans with a COVID-19 vaccine. Sign up now and you’ll be notified when it’s your turn to be vaccinated.
