Web Developer - Chief Clerk's Office


Full-time nonpartisan position in the Minnesota House of Representatives IT Department. The Web Developer / Application Programmer will design, manage, and develop applications, throughout their entire cycle, for the Minnesota House of Representatives and its website.

The position is responsible for the maintenance of the Minnesota House of Representatives internal and external websites and will assist other offices with the publishing of their data and documents. Developer will have a hand in each layer of the stack of web technology. Must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks at the same time. Manage legacy applications by maintaining them or planning their updates. Candidates must be a motivated nonpartisan professional with excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment needed.

Qualifications:

2 years of professional experience

Experience with relational databases; MS SQL Server, Linq-to-SQL, MS Entity Framework

Experience with .NET Framework, .NET CORE, Microsoft MVC including Razor

An understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS

Experience with and/or willingness to learn about Microsoft Server and IIS

Understanding of design patterns, programming principles, including OOP/OOD

Very strong self-management skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

BA/BS or equivalent experience
