Legislative Assistant - House Research Department (Temporary Position)

The House Research Department, a nonpartisan legislative research office, serving the entire Minnesota House of Representatives, has one temporary, full-time legislative assistant position available for the 2018 legislative session. (This position will begin in late February and end in late April.)

Duties include: Providing high-quality administrative and support services to the department and assisting with the technical production of bill drafts, amendments, and bill summaries.

Applicants must have excellent PC skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Word suite. Ability to learn new software quickly, accuracy, excellent proofing skills, and attention to detail are critical skills for this job. Typing speed 60 wpm. In addition to strong organizational skills, applicant must be a self-starter with a responsible work attitude and the ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. Willingness to work with a team and ability to work under pressure are also essential.

Entry salary: $645.20 per week (up to 40 hours)
